my dreams are not unlike yours; (CLOSED)
Who: Rin Tohsaka & Wan
Where: The University.
When: Second week of June.
What: Catching up and talk of merchants aka quest stuff.
Warnings: N/A.
At first it had seemed innocent enough. Seeing flecks of silver along the wrists of both Waver Velvet and Scian made sense--after all, they both had the crest of the Archibald within them and that family's specialty was toying with liquid mercury. As much as the thought of it touching bare skin made her cringe, she was assured there were several different protection wards used in order to guard against the harmful effects and so she brushed her concern away to focus on other matters. There was much to keep her busy, so much in fact that there were times she would neglect her own needs in favor of focusing on her research.
It was only when she stripped down after a particularly rough financial crunch session for a relaxing bath that she realized that some of it had transferred onto her own body. From there, she discovered it wasn't mercury, but something else entirely. Silver..?
No amount of magecraft would remove it without taking her flesh and even when she risked that, it festered up around the wound as though it were her blood itself. It proved to be even more trouble later on when she began to lose feeling in her foot where the brunt of it began. There were isolated spots along her back and shoulders though initially she didn't pay them much attention until they began to spread down along her arms. Fortunately, her crest and circuits fought off the infection in the arm that mattered most at the cost of limiting her bodily resources elsewhere. Rin always found that remarkable--that the crest itself would direct resources of her entire body in order to survive and push her into a comatose state if it meant prolonging its own existence.
Beyond her fascination, the crest's functions proved useful when it came to her magecraft. It wouldn't be tampered with for a while at least which gave her enough time to go through the books at The Barrel alongside her companion. After a couple days together, they came to realize the symptoms increased rapidly between them and left to find cures on their own. Waver headed northeast to the Station, in order to use the technology there to find something while Rin went northwest to The University.
"I don't have time to turn into a statue..."
She's not expecting company or for anyone to take notice of her while she sits huddled in her office completely covered up. Gloves, pants, and long sleeves with a cloak thrown over. There are traces of silver in her hair, but she has it pulled back into a tight braid that just drapes over her shoulder as she flips through books. Anyone is free to come in though they will be greeting with a giant ball of fluff, feathers, and fangs before they could ever make it to her.
